Francis JACKMAN and his wife arrived from France in 1832 and took possession of a tract of land near the present village of Denny or Delano station. Mrs. JACKMAN died in 1880. Their four children who came with them from France are not located as follows: Susan; Christopher, Minnesota; Augustus, Summit Township; Rosa (CASSILLY), Louisville, Ky.

2nd Codice: July 11, 1882 - duaghter Justina died leaving besides her husband eight children; appoints Augustus guardian of her children.

4.  Letter from a Jackman relative about Francis: "Another thing I  know  (but have no proof of) is that the family were French-speaking Alsatians - eastern France.  There is some evidence that they were from around Strasbourg.  (My evidence is a letter by my uncle, who was in Army in WW  I....said he was in the area "where Grampop grew up", and I have his service record, so know where he was in France in the Army."

5.  Letter to Christine Walker from Irene Schwer Claus (Justine Jackman line)- many Jackman's in Butler county, PA - that's where Grandpa's mother is from.

Letter from Geneva Gray (dau of Clara Schwer) to Christine Walker -(Justine Jackman line) Jackman family settled in Butler County, where Justina was born a few months after their arrival. nee Jacquemin - later Anglacized to Jackman.
